Whey Protein Concentrate 60 (WPC60) is a dairy ingredient produced from cheese whey through a filtration and drying process. It contains approximately 60% protein and is commonly used in food manufacturing, nutritional formulations and specialist protein applications.
How does WPC60 differ from higher protein whey concentrates?
WPC60 contains a lower protein concentration than higher protein whey concentrates such as WPC80 or WPC82, resulting in a different balance of protein, lactose and dairy solids. This gives WPC60 different functional properties within food manufacturing and nutritional formulations, including flavour, texture and cost efficiency. WPC60 is commonly used in bakery products, dairy formulations and specialist food applications where a moderate protein level and functional versatility are required.
